Recruits of Mike Company, 3rd Recruit training Battalion, conduct sprints during the Bases event at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Sept. 29. Recruits spent two minutes at each station and were expected to push themselves through each one. Today, all males west of the Mississippi are trained at MCRD San Diego. The depot is responsible for training more than 16,000 recruits annually. Mike Company is scheduled to graduate Dec. 11.
