In 1979 Faye Saulsbury Schmidtke identified the photograph as that of her great grandparents, Letta and John Saulsbury from a print owned by her father. She identifies, from left to right: twins Jamse and George Saulsbury (b. 25 January 1882), Letta holding baby Edwin (b. August 1888), Norman (kneeling), John (d. 10 April 1892), Jack (b. 20 December 1879), and Joseph Elmer (b. 29 March 1878). Letta is pregnant with Vern Saulsbury (b. 3 May 1892). The woman and three of the children wear clothing made from the same material.
