Rotation five of Multi National Base Command - Tarin Kot (MNBC-TK 5) handed over responsibility to MNBC-TK 6 during a Transfer of Authority ceremony Jan. 24, 2013. MNBC-TK 5 served in Afghanistan from August 2012 to January 2013 and were responsible for maintaining base security and sustainment, coordinating logistics resupply and managing contracts in fuel supply, power generation and waste treatment. In line with Air Force tradition, two RAAF Officer distinguishing flags were exchanged between outgoing and incoming Commanding Officers to officially mark the change of command.
