Summary

Landscape drawing shows the building and grounds which housed the Round Hill Water Cure in Northampton, Massachusetts, a medical institution based on hydropathic principles, opened by Dr. E. E. Denniston in 1847. Hydropathic institutes, or water cures, were one of the health and personal hygiene reforms that started in the 1840s. The Northampton Association of Education and Industry introduced hydropathy to Northampton, a center in the water cure movement.
