Description: STS-49 Mission Specialist (MS) Thomas D. Akers inserts a third strut into a node ball locked into a payload retention latch assembly (PRLA) on the starboard side on Endeavour's, Orbiter Vehicle (OV) 105's, payload bay (PLB). During STS-49's fourth extravehicular activity (EVA) session, Akers is evaluating the Assembly of Station by Extravehicular Activity (EVA) Methods (ASEM). This EVA completed a record-setting four sessions of EVA on this nine-day mission .
