PERSIAN GULF (Dec. 12, 2008) Sailors and Marines participate in a "half-way" 10k run on the flight deck of the multi-purpose amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) to commemorate the halfway point of their deployment. Iwo Jima is deployed as part of the Iwo Jima Expeditionary Strike Group supporting maritime security operations in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
