MSD-25 is deployed to the Iraqi oil terminals Al Basrah and Khawr Al Maya in the coastal waters of Iraq supporting Maritime Security Operations (MSO). MSO sets the condition for security and stability in the maritime environment complementing the counter-terrorism and security efforts of regional nations. MSO also denies international terrorists use of the maritime environment as a venue for attack or to transport personnel, weapons, or other material.
