Hitchcock, Texas (Sep. 06, 2006) Sailors assigned to the attack submarine USS Texas (SSN 775) replant marsh grass at Pierce Marsh, in Hitchcock, Texas. The submariners participated in a Galveston Bay Foundation, Natural Restoration Conservation Services and Energy Company NRG project to help restore 200 acres of eroded vegetation. Texas, the second of the Virginia-class submarines designed after the cold war specifically for the challenges of the 21st century, will be commissioned on Sept. 9, 2006.
