The front parcel of surgical dressings are dipped in parafine to make them proof against dampness and gas. This picture shows the workers scraping off drops of parafine that have hardened on the parcel. The "front parcel" is the specialty of the American Red Cross workroom, Rue St. Didier, Paris. It contains the first dressings the wounded soldier gets when he comes from the battle ground to the field dressing station

Samples from bottled and municipal water are placed in the incubator for 24 hours before determining if bacteria is present at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, August 22, 2018.
