San Francisco, Calif., July 24, 2013 -- FEMA and Bay Area interns contend in a "Cook-Off" to promote September's National Preparedness month. In the event of an emergency, standard amenities, such as grocery stores and restaurants, may not be readily available. The cook-off serves as a model to show the types of meals that can be created in the absence of electricity and gas.
