description

Summary

Senior Airman Scott Johnson, 379th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Aerospace Ground Equipment shop, removes air conditioning ducts from an air conditioning/heating unit, Oct. 13, 2008, at an undisclosed air base in Southwest Asia. The ducts were pulled as part of a phase 2 inspection, which involves checking each system on the unit and changing all filters and fluids. In the desert heat, air conditioning units are mission essential because without them aircraft components would overheat during pre-flight operation checks. Airman Johnson, a native of Warner Robins, Ga., is deployed from Kadena Air Base, Japan, in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa.
