Senior Chief Petty Officer Mike Cook secures a wood board in place with a vice at the Transit Center at Manas, Kyrgyzstan, Oct. 9, 2012. Cook spends his free time handcrafting wooden toy boxes for the Friends of Children orphanage in Sokuluk, Kyrgyzstan. He is the U.S. Naval Forces Central Forward Headquarters lead chief petty officer of pay and travel deployed out of Naval Station Norfolk, Va., and is a native of Fort Worth, Texas.
