Staff Sgt. James Schump, a tank commander from Fort Carson, Colo., puts an M-60 tank deep in water during a training exercise for the 2nd Brigade, 84th Division in the summer of 1978. During Annual Training 1978, the 84th Division, also known as the Railsplitters, were assigned the mission of retraining from basic combat training to one station basic combat training and Armor Advanced Individual Training.
