PORT AU PRINCE, Haiti (Sep. 17, 2008) Service members from nations around the world, along with representatives from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and World Food Program (WFP), gather at the United Nations headquarters in Haiti to discuss hurricane relief efforts. The amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) is assisting USAID and WFP by airlifting food and supplies to flooded areas of Haiti where the damaged roads are making access difficult. America's contribution to the relief efforts in Haiti are coordinated by USAID and its Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance.
