Nemanic, a native of Chico, Calif., is also into adventure sports. “While I was at Fort Campbell, [Kentucky] I learned how to scuba dive and I did that in Korea,” she said. “But when I moved to Fort Bliss there was no water, or at least no water within 500 miles, and so I just ‘googled’ hang gliding school, found one, sold all my scuba equipment and the instructor and family ended up being a second home to me.”
