description

Summary

Sgt. First Class Shawn Humprey (left) escorts the workers to the awaiting Blackhawk helicopter to evacuate them from the area at the end of their shift at the Cooper Nuclear Station near Nemaha, Nebraska on March 16, 2019.
Due to flooding around the Cooper Nuclear Station, the Nebraska National Guard Soldiers of Company G, 2nd of the 104th General Support Aviation Battalion assisted the workers getting in and out of the station to keep the power on in the area on March 16, 2019. The station, which is located along the Missouri River, was surrounded by the flood waters and cut off from the town of Nemaha. Nebraska has experienced its worst flooding ever; displacing hundreds of people and causing millions of dollars in damages to homes, farmland, and cities. (Nebraska National Guard photo by Staff Sgt.
