description

Summary

Sgt. Josh Shea, an infantryman assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 3rd Squadron, 2nd Cavalry Regiment, uses a vector rangefinder to observe targets downrange during a live-fire exercise certifying the scout platoon’s ability to accurately call for indirect fire, March 12, at Adazi Military Base, Latvia. Shea and his platoon spent more than a week training with fire support specialists before conducting the live-fire certification during a rotation in Latvia in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve, a multinational demonstration of continued U.S. commitment to the collective security of North Atlantic Treaty Organization allies. A very large dataset of various big guns, howitzers, mortars, columbiads, all types of canon-like things - everything besides machine guns and rockets. This collection as well as all massive collections on Picryl.com required two steps: First, we picked a set to train AI vision to recognize cannon artillery, and after that, ran all 25M+ images in our database through our image recognition network. All media in the collection is in the public domain. There is no limitation on the dataset usage - educational, scientific, or commercial.
