description

Summary

Sgt. Maj. Raymond Moran (Ret.), affectionately known as the "Old Soldier," leans in to kiss his wife, Barbara, of 65 years marriage at their home in Odenton, Maryland, Feb. 11, 2018. The Morans officially celebrate their wedding anniversary on Valentine's Day. They were married Feb. 14, 1953. Raymond is originally from Latrobe, Pennsylvania, and Barbara is from Slovan, Pennsylvania. With this milestone, their years of marriage match the same number of years Moran committed to service in the Army and Army Reserve. Raymond enlisted in 1948, and served in Korea, Vietnam, Japan, Cambodia and during Desert Storm. He spent 30 years on active duty and 35 years as a civilian recruiter in the U.S. Army Reserve.
