Sgt. Maj. Robert Yanez of the 903rd Contingency Contracting Battalion, part of the 409th Contracting Support Brigade, 21st Theater Sustainment Command; and Betsabe Colon, whose husband serves with the TSC’s 5th Quartermaster Company, 39th Transportation Battalion, 16th Sustainment Brigade, sing during a Catholic mass conducted as part of a “fiesta” held in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe Dec. 12 at Daenner Kaserne. The eclectic celebration included a procession, a re-enactment of the Virgin’s 16th-Century appearance to Juan Diego, a performance by young “Matachines” dancers, a concert performed by an authentic Mariachi band, an international potluck luncheon and the demolition of a candy-filled piñata as well as the choral performance.
