Sgt. Sara Kerby, A Company, 145th Brigade Support Battalion, tests a Load Handling System Compatible Water Tank Rack (HIPPO) on the 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team’s brigade support area June 2, 2019, at the National Training Center in Fort Irwin, California. The 2,000-gallon tank can pump 125 gallons of water a minute and helps the brigade transport its necessary water requirements.
Kerby, an Idaho Army National Guard 92W water treatment specialist, serves in the 145th BSB’s A Company, located in Post Falls, Idaho. 92Ws are responsible for supervising or performing the installation and operation of water purification equipment, as well as dealing with water storage and distribution operations and activities.
The 116th CBCT is training at the National Training Center May 24 - June 20. Rotations at the NTC help build unit readiness and increase Soldier proficiency. Units from more than a dozen Army National Guard states are participating in the 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team’s rotation. The 116th CBCT, one of five National Guard armor brigade combat teams, is headquartered in Boise, Idaho, and comprised of Soldiers from the Idaho, Montana, Nevada and Oregon Army National Guards.
