Shelter on Turner Field at Naval Amphibious Base Coronado

Interior communications electrician Petty Officer 3rd Class Natoshia Reid and engineman Petty Officer 2nd Class Shannon A. Smith account for personnel and pets evacuated to the 500-person tent camp on Turner Field at Naval Amphibious Base Coronado. Sailors assigned to Amphibious Construction Battalion 1 built the tent camp as emergency shelter for victims of the San Diego wildfires. More than 268 military personnel and their families have evacuated their homes to seek shelter in the camp.
