JEFFERSON PARISH, La. - Petty Officer 3rd Class Alex Olbert, a marine science technician from Coast Guard Sector Anchorage, Alaska, and Petty Officer 2nd Class Ryan Johnson, a marine science technician from Sector Seattle, Wash., communicate with the U.S. Coast Guard airboat pilots on their way to Grand Terre Island 2 in Grand Isle, La., to conduct a shoreline assessment June 16, 2010. Shoreline assessments are conducted twice a day in two-man teams allowing Coast Guard personnel to monitor the progress and clean-up of oil for the BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill response effort.
