SMWDC Commander visits SWOS San Diego Basic Division Officer Course

SAN DIEGO (Oct. 30, 2018) Rear Adm. Dave Welch, commander of Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center (SMWDC) speaks with members of Surface Warfare Officer Schools Command detachment San Diego's Basic Division Officer Course Officer Course on board Naval Base San Diego, Oct. 30. Welch met with the group to discuss the Surface Warfare Officer Career Path, career opportunities, and to answer questions. SMWDC is one of the Navy's five Warfighting Development Centers and its mission is to increase the lethality and tactical proficiency of the Surface Force across all domains.
