Summary

Soldiers from the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (the Old Guard) and a bugler from the U.S. Army Band, “Pershing’s Own” conduct modified military funeral honors for U.S. Army Air Forces Pvt. Miriam Rivkin in Section Q of U.S. Soldiers’ and Airmen’s Home National Cemetery, Washington, D.C., February 11, 2021.
Rivkin joined the Women’s Auxiliary Air Corps in 1943 and served for two years during WWII. She was one of the only female soldiers in the China-Burma-India theater of the war and served as a photographer. After she left the service, Rivkin had a 50-year career in the New York fashion industry.
At the time she passed away, Rivkin was living at the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Northwest Washington, D.C.
Rivkin’s son-in-law, Daniel Clark, received the U.S. flag from her casket.
