Soldiers from the U.S. Army Band, “Pershing’s Own,” and the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard), participate in the graveside service for U.S. Air Force 1st Lt. Donald Beals at in Arlington National Cemetery, Oct. 17, 2016, in Arlington, Va. Beals died when his single-seat P-47D “Thunderbolt” was struck by intense anti-aircraft fire above Lonnewitz, Germany on April 17, 1945. His remains were recently recovered and identified.
