Soldiers of the Headquarters, Headquarters Battery 35th Air Defense Artillery (ADA), Fort Lewis, Washington, will use entrenching tools and tent stakes to set up operations on the range at Fort Bliss, Texas. The 35th ADA, while deployed at Fort Bliss, will provide Patriot Missile defense against enemy fighter strikes simulated SCUD missile launches during ROVING SANDS '97. ROVING SANDS is a multinational effort and is the largest military exercise on United States soil that allows training in a joint environment to hone command and control procedures and integrate new systems in Theater and Air Missile Defense
