Soldiers of the Mortar Platoon, Company C, "Crazy Horse", 1st Battalion, 66th Armor Regiment, attached to the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, enter the final leg of their route clearance mission May 2, conducting a dismounted patrol operation from their Combat Outpost in Baghdad al-Jidida along a major highway that runs to Forward Operating Base Rustamiyah. The Soldiers conduct the route clearance mission from the COP daily to ensure that it remains free of improvised explosive devices and explosively formed projectiles. The 1st Bn., 66th Armor Regt. is part of the 1st BCT, 4th Infantry Division, stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, and deployed to Baghdad in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. (U.S. Army photo/Staff Sgt.
