Soldiers with the New Hampshire and Massachusetts National
Summary
Soldiers with the New Hampshire and Massachusetts National Guard chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and high yield explosive (CBRNE) enhanced response force packages (CERF-P) work to decontaminate personnel that have been evacuated or extricated out of a simulated collapsed structure at the former Brunswick Naval Air Station. The collapsed building was one part of a multi-day training exercise that will bring civilian emergency responders, aid groups, National Guard soldiers and international groups together to strengthen communication and preparedness in case of a real emergency. During the exercise, called "Vigilant Guard" the emergency crews will respond to disasters such as a massive winter ice storm, chemical and hazardous material threats, bomb and terrorist threats, collapsed structures, and cyber-security breaches.
