STAFF Sergeant William E. Pace, a loadmaster with the 14th Airlift Squadron, Charleston Air Force Base, South Carolina, performs spotter duties as his C-17 Globemaster III transport aircraft enters Bosnian airspace in support of Operation JOINT GUARD. As a spotter, he is required to look out the side window for any surface to air threat and report this threat to the pilot who will perform evasive maneuvers.
