Staff Sgt. Deborah Powell, a supply sergeant who works as a carpenter for Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1103rd Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 1st Sustainment Brigade, makes wooden trucks modeled after the vehicles Soldiers drive while missions for decoration in the battalion's tactical operations center. Powell, a Tallassee, Ala., has been woodworking for 17 years and uses her skills to liven up the 1103rd CSSB area of operations with her masterpieces. Powell is currently serving her second deployment, which she volunteered for, and is due to return home in April.
