Edward Robert Maltman, born 15 May 1909 and known as Ned. Sister Ruby Elizabeth Maltman was born 1 November 1911. They were the children of James Robert Maltman and Thirza Mildred Hudd, who were married in Toowong, Brisbane, on 14 November 1907. The Maltmans were a well known family of Caloundra. Ruby Maltman became Mrs Sutherland and Ned became a teamster in the timber industry, taking over his father's team. (Description supplied with photograph).
