Stationen öppnades 1876 för godstrafik och 1881 för persontrafik. Statens Järnvägar och Bergslagernas Järnvägar byggde 1877 stationshuset för föreningsstationen. Det revs 1929 och ersattes av ett nytt, alldeles intill det äldre. Olskroken nedlades 1980 för persontrafiken och nu finns inga synliga rester av stationen.

Steam Machines, Engines, Locomotives. In 1781 James Watt patented a steam engine that produced continuous rotary motion. Watt's ten-horsepower engines enabled a wide range of manufacturing machinery to be powered. The engines could be sited anywhere that water and coal or wood fuel could be obtained. By 1883, engines that could provide 10,000 hp had become feasible. The steam engine was one of the most important technologies of the Industrial Revolution.

Made in two steps - first, curated set, followed by running 25 Million public domain images through image recognition, it comprises more than 50,000 train station images from all countries and times.
