Josephus Augustus Knip - Studies of Goats
Summary
Knip must have drawn these kinds of small studies of animals in large numbers. They proved useful as staffage in his painted landscapes populated with ‘beeldjes en beestjes’ (figures and beasts), as they were described in the 19th century.
