Summary
Dutch satirical broadside comparing events in the War of the Spanish Succession during 1708 to a game of backgammon. An etching showing seven gamblers: 1. the Bavarian on a stool with lion's feet and his back to the viewer playing against 2. the Brusselois; 3. the Englishman, in a chair on the right, looking on and smoking a pipe; 4. the Frenchman having lost his wig scratches at his head; 5. the Dutchman; 6. the Savoyard; 7. and the man from Gent stand watching behind the table. With engraved Duch title, numbering 1-7, and French inscription, including legend, and Dutch engraved verses, including legend, in two columns. (n.p.:1708)
