Summary

Thanks to five new buildings at Fort Lee soldiers can learn how to maintain weapons systems and vehicles in high tech high bay facilities. The buildings are all part of the new Army Ordnance Center campus at Fort Lee, Va. Norfolk District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, provided the design and construction management and its engineering branch developed the request for proposals that defined the general design-build requirements for constructing the facilities. The $800 million, five-building complex, is part of Fort Lee’s $1.2 billion construction program under the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure authorization. Under BRAC, the Army Ordnance Center and School relocated from Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland to Fort Lee.
