The Australian Defense Vessel Ocean Shield is moored to a pier in Perth, Australia, March 30, 2014. The ship was scheduled to set sail in support of the search for Malaysia Airlines Flight 370. U.S. Navy ships and aircraft also had been dispatched to the region to assist in a multinational search for the aircraft, which disappeared March 8, 2014, over the Gulf of Thailand with 239 people aboard.
