The capital of Poland. Looking down on Warsaw, capital of the new Polish republic from an aeroplane, one would not guess the misery and suffering this great city of over 1,000,000 population, is enduring. The five domed church in the centre of this picture is the former Russian cathedral, a standing monument to Xzardom, and an eyesore to the Poles. In the double spired church in the foreground the heart of Chopin, the great Polish musician, is buired. The wooded grounds to the left are the Saxon Gardens, recently the scene of one of the happiest gatherings Poland has seen for years, when the American Red Cross brought all the children of Warsaw together and gave them the first chocolate they had seen since the war
