The commander of Naval Medical Center San Diego and Navy Medicine West receives new shoulder boards.

SAN DIEGO (Aug. 13, 2012) Rear Adm. C. Forrest Faison III, commander of Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD) and Navy Medicine West (NMW), center, receives new shoulder boards from his family during a ceremony promoting him to a Rear Admiral (Upper Half). Faison assumed command of NMCSD and NMW in Aug. 2010, leading 10 Navy military treatment facilities and overseeing the medical care of more than 675,000 beneficiaries across the western Pacific region.
