Atlantic Ocean (Feb. 23, 2005) The crew members aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) render honors as the Color Guard marches past the ranks during a ceremony to mark the 60th anniversary of the flag raising atop Mount Suribachi during the Battle of Iwo Jima. The entire ship's crew assembled on the flight deck aboard Iwo Jima to mark the anniversary. The Battle of Iwo Jima is considered by many to be the bloodiest battle in Marine Corps history, and the turning point in the Pacific Campaign of World War II.
