Two other small pictures also belong to this period, and must havebeen painted about 1503 at Perugia. One is the little Salvator Mundi 30 THE EARLY WORK OF RAPHAEL in the gallery of Brescia, a half-length figure of the risen Christ wearinga crown of green thorns, and raising his pierced hand in blessing, whichoriginally belonged to a family of Pesaro, in the Duchy of Urbino. Theother is the St. Sebastian bearing a dart in his hand, now in the BergamoGallery.
