This slieep was bred by Mr. Herbert Farthing(brother of Mr. Walter Earthing, celebrated forbis beautiful Devous, so well known in the yardsof the Bath and West of England p-ud RoyalAgricuitural Societies, as well as at the Smith-field Club Cattle Show), and when 1 year 4months and 3 weeks old was awarded the fii-stprize, with another from the same flock second, atthe Bath and West of England meeting held at Oxford. He is a long, level sheep, with good neck,shoulder, leg, and loin, and will no doubt prove avary useful member of the flock in getting plentyof early lambs, for the ewes of this breed are saidto be in fashion before any other species, andare consequently much sought after for producinghouse lamb to supply those who go in for everydelicacy of the season at Christmas. They are avery hardy breed of sheep and good folders.
