The first wave of the 10,000 runners competing in the Lincoln National Guard Marathon in Nebraska leaves the starting gate at 7 a.m., May 6, 2012. Among the runners were 216 National Guard soldiers and airmen representing 44 states and two territories. The race is the only opportunity for Guardsmen to qualify for the elite All-Guard Marathon Team.
