The odd one out by Frances C. Fairman

Oil on canvas portrait painting by Frances C. Fairman (1836-1923), titled The odd one out. The picture shows four Japanese Chin dogs with a Shishi or mythical lion-dog from China. Fairman made a series of dog portraits containing references to the Boxer Rebellion and its aftermath, and possibly this is part of that series.
