The platoon guide stands at parade rest during the Field Medical Service Technician course graduation at Camp Pendleton, June 24. The eight-week course at FMTB introduces hospital corpsmen to daily Marine Corps operations through hands-on training and interaction with Marines. The students learn a variety of skills during the course such as proper customs and courtesies, weapons procedures, basic fundamentals of marksmanship, basic infantry skills and a variety of medical techniques and skills to enhance their field medical capabilities.
