The Puerto Rico National Guard celebrated its annual

The Puerto Rico National Guard celebrated its annual New Year Reception event at the Joint Force Headquarters facilities in San Juan, Puerto Rico, January 19. During this historical event, the Adjutant General of Puerto Rico, Brig. Gen. Isabelo Rivera, is joined by his staff, leaders and representatives of all PRNG units and their spouses to welcome the new year and wishing for it to be a prosper one. At the same time, the PRNG celebrates 100 years of great accomplishments as an institution undertaking federal and community missions since its beginning back in 1919. During his speech, Gen. Rivera spoke of the achievements of the PRNG during the last 100 years, mentioned those events which saddened the institution and also spoke of what the PRNG has in store for the future and the good of the Nation. Among the guests for this event, there were many past military leaders who became part of the unique history of the PRNG. These leaders, at their time, were the mentors of those leaders standing today.
