The Republic of Korea Republic of Korea navy Submarine Command at Chinhae is established.

CHINHAE, Republic of Korea (Feb. 02, 2015) Rear Adm. Phillip Sawyer, commander of Submarine Force U.S. Pacific Fleet, Rear Adm. Stuart Munsch, commander of Submarine Group 7, and Rear Adm. Lisa Franchetti, commander of U.S. Naval Forces Korea, join Republic of Korea Minister of Defense Han Min Koo and other senior U.S. and Republic of Korea military officers for a photo session during the establishment ceremony for the Republic of Korea navy Submarine Command at Chinhae. The Republic of Korea joins five other nations' navies, including the U.S. Navy, which has command staffs dedicated to manning, training, equipping, and readiness of their respective submarine forces.
