The Royal Navy during the Second World War
An officer of a rescue party in HMS MANCHESTER comes up from below deck covered in fuel oil. Whilst taking part in convoy duty to Malta in the Mediterranean, the cruiser had been hit by an aerial torpedo and the rescue party was bringing up crewmen trapped below decks.
