Summary
The Second Battle of the Marne, July-august 1918
A group of four walking wounded French soldiers walk towards the camera along on a sunny track following one of the Battles of the Marne. Three of the French soldiers are holding hands, guiding the central man (second from the left), who appears to have been injured by gas: his eyes are covered with a bandage. A British soldier can be seen in the centre of the photograph.
