We are pleased to be able to present to our readers a repro- Franchise for the New York & Port ChesterRailway Co. After fighting four years for a franchise, first before thehi Udermen and then before the Board of Estimate, the New Vork& Port Chester Railway Co. has persuaded the Board ot Estimate toapprove its application. The board adopted a resolution fixingterms under which the road may obtain a franchise to operate 111the Bronx, but the action is tentative, inasmuch as the terms havein be advertised, under the law, for 20 days and also because thecourtshave not yet passed on the constitutionality of the act, givingfranchise-granting powers to the Board of Estimate, instead f tothe Board of Aldermen.
