The Taylors' checkerspot butterfly calls prairie land

The Taylors' checkerspot butterfly calls prairie land on Joint Base Lewis-McChord its home. Because of shrinking habitat, the training areas on JBLM are one place where humans and wildlife can coexist. Wildlife management teams on JBLM ensure that the base is in compliance with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s regulations.
